Did you miss the February MLM Startup Conference? In attendance were over 100 people, representing 65 companies from 20 states and five countries (Canada, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, and the United States). A: The DSA (Direct Selling Association) is a national trade association for the direct selling industry. It has been around for approximately 100 years. The DSA is highly involved in setting the standards for the direct selling industry as well as representing the industry to federal and state legislatures and regulatory agencies. A company which seeks to join the DSA will complete an extensive application and proceed through a screening process for membership. Once the screening process is approved, the prospective member becomes a “pending member” of the DSA. The pending member then must go through a one year waiting period before action is taken by the DSA Board of Directors to approve admission to membership.
